How We Are Made

Step one 1. Clay is pressed into two halves of a mould and joined together. Each mould is unique, made from a one-off original. Step Two 2. The basic form is removed from the mould. Step Three 3. The basic form is smoothed down.
Step Seven 7. The glazed birds are fired a second time to stoneware 1260C
Step Six 6. Birds are dipped in glaze and each hand painted Step Five 5. Once birds are fully dried they are biscuit fired to 1000C Step Four 4. Tail, wings & beak are made and joined to the body making each bird unique.
